Buck just let me know at the break that he’s been ticketed in every state he’s lived in, except California. That’s amazing that he won’t learn his lesson. Of course, I haven’t really learned mine either, I’ve just been lucky the last 7 years. He also told me of a trooper pulling him over here in Charlotte. He wrote him the ticket and then asked Buck if he could have an autograph because they’re having a good season. Guess as a trooper you have to have some balls. Buck just looked at him and said you just got my autograph.

You can’t deny our listeners’ passion. Just had a Duke fan call trying to defend his Devils. He was tired of everyone ragging how good they are and questioned the Tar Heels quality wins. He asked, who has Carolina beaten on the road…Buck responded with Duke. Wow, you talk about ending an argument right there. Of course, the passion will cause you to be deaf and illogical, so he kept going….Well my Duke friend, UNC has beaten Michigan St(sure it wasn’t on campus, but it was in Detroit), gone to Maui and won that title, won every conference road game except Wake and Maryland. This is just a prelude to next week’s Duke/UNC discussion which will last all week long.

Buck just told me at the break that he hopes Duke wins on Saturday at Virginia Tech. Now Buck hasn’t switched allegiances, but he wants Duke to go into Chapel Hill on such a win streak and have that battle be for the ACC title…that way it would be extra sweet win the Heels win. Sounds good, but someone told me to be careful for what you wish for. Not sure who told me because I’ve spoken to so many people in my life I can’t remember everything that everyone tells me. I get in enough trouble with my wife for that reason.

It’s nice to see all this money being thrown around the NFL. It’s fun to play Fantasy Football in February and early March. Just wish the Panthers had some money to play with. I miss the days they would sign Eric Swann, Chuck Smith, Richard Huntley, Natrone Means. Who is going to be this year’s Landon Johnson or Doug Bryzenski…yes, I just dropped his name…don’t make me wait too long Marty…trade Pep so we can get in the game

Our boy Marty Snider came up to me after the four horseman and asked if I wanted a sandwich from Quizno’s. I said that I was ok because I packed my own lunch. Well our gopher comes back with a big order for Buck, Brett and Mark because he did the delivering for Marty. Mark then says tell Marty thanks. I look at him and says, Marty bought all of us a sandwich. Hey Marty, next time you offer to go to Quizno’s and you’re willing to buy…let someone know it’s your treat. I could easily ice my sandwich for a weekend for a free sandwich. Show some class Snider.

I tell you switching from mornings to middays has been an adjustment. With Free Agency about to hit, there’s a lot of breaking news going on right now. Just read that Ken Lucas turned down a trade to Detroit…I wonder what they offered. But with all this breaking news I just had another epiphany. I never had to deal with this in the morning. It’s very painstaking trying to follow all of these news and notes to keep my guys in the loop. But it’s also fun and exciting. I’m sure I’m not done for the day.

Our resident gopher, who also produces another show, got Marty and Buck some lunch from Quizno’s. The only problem is he didn’t ask my boy Mark if he wanted anything. He just walked in here said a couple of words and left, leaving Mark saying, “I’m ok I didn’t want anything.” Glad our gopher is a team player. Saw his e-mail to respond to Mark, “Tell Mark to take the elevator to floor 1, go out the door and take a left”. Aren’t you supposed to be working or something and not wasting time typing e-mails?

Buck has been working the A&W Diet Root Beer the last couple of days. He just told me during the break, “I don’t know Tom, after another month, this might turn into real beer”. I chuckled, but he had a serious look on his face. All I ask is that he brings enough to share with the entire class. That is a lesson you never forget.

I tell you what…NC State is playing so much better and have some talent. I think if they beat Wake Forest tonight, they should be in the conversation of teams making the NCAA tournament. There’s very little room for error, but I think they can beat Wake and Maryland on Sunday, then finish the season with BC and Miami. The last 3 are games against teams in the same situation they are in. But, they may have to run the table to get Sid’s first NCAA berth.

Marty hasn’t wasted any time to complain about no food. Is it that obvious that this show doesn’t have any food brought to them. You know Marty, you were more than welcome to bring something from home. I know all these workers out there go to work all the time and no one provides food for them. This isn’t a right Marty, being a Big Nasty is a privilege. Now, if someone wants to bring us food, I’m not going to complain.
